SAAS Founders — AI is probably seducing you into making these costly mistakes.

Past week i saw a lot of people building their SAAS products using AI due to the rise of tools like lovable.dev and bolt.new.

While these platforms are giving good quality code which is making the mechanical process of building softwares easy. But here is a downside, nobody is talking about -

❌ AI can only give you responses, good as your prompts.

❌ AI can't tell you where your code will break.

❌ Where specific style of code would go off while scaling.

❌ If this product would hold customers and feel like home to them.

But this excitement of getting the new power to build software faster will have a lot of founders build a product that ONLY WORKS.

And this is what happens, when you are playing with something you aren't sure about -

The good thing about these tools is -

→ You can build MVPs, test and iterate your hypothesis for market validation.

→ Mechanical part of the SAAS is getting easier than ever.

But does having the best coding people in the company, guaranteed that it will succeed? Probably not.

While mechanical side of things have turned a lot easier, engineering a successful product that scales and retains customers has turned challenging. Here is my prediction from 2025, moving forward -

"We will see a lot of SAAS products coming out faster than ever, with the rise — we will see failure rates much higher than ever".

Why this is a crucial problems?

❌ Founders can waste a lot of their creative energy getting lost.

❌ Get seduced into continuous building zone.

❌ Going through the entire process again to put bandages to the product.

We need more WINS.

Important steps that you shouldn't avoid while building —

👉 Investor Ready Architecture

Most startups can’t answer this question. They rush to launch, thinking they’re a software company, not a startup solving a problem.

And this is the most important step if you looking to raise funds in near future.

Without understanding why you’re building and how your system scales, growth turns into chaos.

You can use my playbook to train your engineering team to build solid products.

👉 The Core Business

How does the tech and every interaction throughout the software, and how does it supports our business long term.

👉 Retention & Profitability

Acquisition can only bring new eyeballs to your product but to be truly profitable, you softwares need to retain and engage customers. So that you can get longer lifetime value.

You can use my legacy framework for non-tech people to engineer retention into your SAAS.

👉 Defining key KPIs

Without having the right KPIs to track if your software systems are going in the right direction aligning with the business objectives. It becomes easy to stuff your software and make it non-usable for most of your customers.

👉 Execution without breaking

Building an entire system with minimum technical debt is what separates good products from the ones that never see the light. Identifying when to automate, delegate or optimize specific components of your solution becomes crucial.

Important tests that will ensure that you scale with confidence -

  1. Load testing with no. of customers + margin you are expecting.
  2. Code reliability test
  3. API load tests
  4. Security Pentest
  5. Database load test
